【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdesignedtogivethemanufacturerofloose-fillinsulationproductsawayofdeterminingwhattheinitialinstalledthicknessshouldbeinahorizontalopenatticforpneumaticapplications.Theinstalledthicknessvaluedevelopedbythistestmethodisintendedtoprovideguidancetotheinstallerinordertoachieveaminimummass/unitareaforagivenR-value.Forthepurposeofproductdesign,testingshouldbedoneatavarietyofR-values.AtleastthreeR-valuesshouldbeused:thelowestR-valueontheproductlabel,thehighestR-valueontheproductlabel,andanR-valuenearthemidpointoftheR-valuerange.Note18212;Forqualitycontrolpurposes,testingmaybedoneatoneR-valueofR-19(hx00D7;ft2x00D7;x00B0;F/Btu)orhigher.Specimensareblowninamannerconsistentwiththeintendedinstallationprocedure.Blowingmachinesettingsshouldberepresentativeofthosetypicallyusedforfieldapplicationwiththatmachine.ThematerialblownforagivenR-valueaspartoftheinstalledthicknesstestequalstheinstalledmass/unitareatimesthetestchamberarea.ThismasscanbecalculatedfrominformationprovidedonthepackagelabelattheR-valueprescribed.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationoftheinstalledthicknessofpneumaticallyappliedloose-fillbuildinginsulationspriortosettlingbysimulatinganopenatticwithhorizontalblownapplications.1.2Thistestmethodisalaboratoryprocedureforusebymanufacturersofloose-fillinsulationforproductdesign,labeldevelopment,andqualitycontroltesting.Theapparatususedproducesinstalledthicknessresultsatagivenmass/unitarea.1.3ThistestmethodisnotthesameasthedesigndensityproceduresdescribedinTestMethodsC520orSpecificationsC739orC764.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.5responsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
